Gab’s Countdown to Christmas: Taylor Swift

I have to admit that I sometimes long for the good ol’ days when Taylor Swift was a doe-eyed, curly-haired country singer. Her Christmas EP is one of my favorites and “Christmas Must Be Something More” finds Taylor exploring the themes of Christmas beyond the secular.

While I love “Blank Space” Taylor, there’s just something so innocently refreshing about the Taylor that shines on this song, celebrating that there’s more to Christmas than hanging a wreath on the door.

In the song, Taylor raises a toast to the reason for the season with an adorable worded, “Here’s to the birthday boy who saved our lives.” On this December 13th, we celebrate both that birthday boy and the birthday girl who has changed the face of music.

Christmas must be something more, indeed.
