Gab’s Countdown to Christmas: Scotty McCreery

While the holidays are usually a happy time, for some people, they bring about bittersweet feelings, forcing us to remember those who are no longer with us to celebrate. Scotty McCreery captures the sentiment perfectly in “Christmas in Heaven” from his album Christmas with Scotty McCreery.

The song is a beautiful ode to wondering what Christmas in Heaven is like, as Scotty asks, “Is the snow falling down on the streets of gold? / Are the mansions all covered in white? / Are you singing with angels ‘Silent Night’? / I wonder what Christmas in heaven is like…”

Not going to lie, this song totally gives me the chills, but also serves as a reminder of what’s important this Christmas season. Celebrate with those you love this Christmas season because someday you may have to wonder what Christmas in Heaven is like.

Ever since I heard this song, in 2012, on Scotty’s Christmas album, it has definitely been my favorite Christmas song. It helps me to think of family and friends who are celebrating Christmas in Heaven.
