What do you get when you mix Kelsea Ballerini‘s writing, Lindsay Ell‘esque guitar playing, a traditional sounding country voice, and one of the most adorable personalities you will ever experience? South Florida country singer Maggie Baugh covering “Dibs“.
Maggie Baugh caught my attention years ago when she played fiddle with Charlie Daniels during “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” at a Florida show. Little did I know the then barely teenager would blossom into such a phenomenal guitar player and vocalist that I would become mesmerized by her putting her own twist on a rising song.
Sitting in her “messy room”, sporting a NASCAR hat, the seemingly normal teenager introduces Kelsea’s second single before jumping right in and turning it into something completely new and fantastic. All while singing “Dibs” with her strong twang, Maggie works her way up and down the neck of the guitar and strums her heart out, recreating the masterpiece that will likely give Kelsea her second ride to the top of the charts.
If you’re looking for entertainment and talent (hey!), look no further than Maggie Baugh’s magnetic and infectious rendition of “Dibs” below.
