Unfortunately, this is an update everyone has expected but nobody wants to hear.

Joey+Rory’s Rory Feek updated his blog this morning to let fans know that Joey has now entered hospice.

At 4 am on Friday morning we rushed Joey to the hospital in Muncie. Her pain had become too much to bare. A few hours later the doctors told us that the pain was from the cancer tumors continuing to grow and become inflamed and we need to concentrate now on helping her be comfortable.

Not the answer we hoped for… but the answer He has given us.

After months of fans praying, it appears that the end is coming fast and Joey’s cancer battle will soon be over. Thankfully, the singer has been able to spend the last couple of weeks enjoying time with family, resting, and most importantly being able to say goodbye.

Rory says that Joey has been spending extra special time with daughter Indiana and has even been able to record on several recordable books for her.

Joey will spend her remaining time at home being made comfortable by hospice and spending more time with those who love her.

As always, Joey, Rory, and little Indiana are in my thoughts and prayers.

Your headline for this story is incorrect. Joey has not entered hospice, if you mean a hospice facility. She is at home, and hospice will have someone in the home.

It’s an old habit. I worked as a medical transcriptionist for 15 years and the doctors nearly always said “entered hospice” regardless of where the hospice care was taking place. Honestly, though, does it really matter how I worded it? Hospice is taking care of her, that’s the point of the post. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
