The stars came out in droves last night to honor some of the best musical acts of 2015 at the American Music Awards (“AMAs“). The multi-genre celebration included country music award categories, performances, and presentations, proving that the AMAs got the memo that this genre has become absolutely massive.
Taking the stage and showing that country has some of the finest talent across the industry were Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Little Big Town‘s Karen Fairchild. Carrie, who took home the Favorite Female Country Artist award, debuted her new single “Heartbeat” for the crowd, belting an emotional tune about the men in her life, husband Mike and baby Isaiah. Luke, the winner of the Favorite Male Country Artist award, shared the stage with Karen to, likewise, debut their new duet “Home Alone Tonight“.
Other than Carrie and Luke representing country music as award recipients, Florida Georgia Line took home the trophies for both Favorite Duo or Group and Favorite Album (Anything Goes). The award-winning duo also presented an award, giving them the opportunity to show on-camera gratitude for their wins.
Perhaps the biggest honor that was bestowed upon country music last night went to Sam Hunt, who took home the all-genre fan-voted New Artist of the Year award, presented by Kohl’s. Sam beat out heavy hitters Fetty Wap, Tove Lo, Walk the Moon, and The Weeknd, making country music fans cheer worldwide.
Congratulations to all the country music winners at the AMAs and thank you for representing the genre so beautifully! We are so proud of all of you!
