The Opry & Kelsea Ballerini Make Wishes Come True

Tissue alert!

Mykal, a seventeen-year-old with a serious heart condition that left her in the hospital with a 3% chance of survival, is an aspiring singer-songwriter from Savannah, Missouri. When Mykal was in the hospital and in a coma, her family sat by her bed, around the clock, playing her favorite Taylor Swift CD. When Mykal awoke, she immediately began singing “Fearless”.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation learned of Mykal and her biggest dream — to perform one of her original songs in Nashville, Tennessee. In true Make-A-Wish fashion, the Foundation decided to one-up Mykal’s wish and not only got her to Nashville, but put her right on the Grand Ole Opry stage in front of an audience of her loved ones.

To prepare for the night, Mykal was also pampered by her favorite Nashville store, Tatyana’s, and The Adore Girls Pinup. She then climbed into a limousine to make her Opry arrival, entered backstage, like a true star, and was given a private tour. She then stood in the infamous circle, the curtain was lifted, and she experienced “the greatest moment of [her] life.”

However, it didn’t stop there. Kelsea Ballerini was on hand to add more shine to an already bright day, surprising Mykal in a dressing room and ready to exchange stories about their times on the Opry stage.

See Mykal get her wish granted in the Grand Ole Opry video below, and watch as Number 1 artist Kelsea Ballerini continues to make this teenager’s dreams come true.
