Carrie Underwood‘s “Smoke Break” has been smoking the competition since its unexpected release in August. Now, to follow up the official music video and prepare fans for the October 23rd release of Storyteller, Carrie’s next album, Sony Music Nashville has shared a lyric video for the chart-climbing song.
Created by the ultra-talented Polly Burokas, the “Smoke Break” lyric video cleverly shares photographs of young women and young men during the verses, respectively, while focusing on those who have found time to relax and take the proverbial smoke break while the chorus plays. Following the neutrally colored theme of the official music video, the lyric-based project displays the words of the song in earthy tones, lending continuity to Carrie’s marketing for the single, as well as the entire forthcoming album.
