Carrie Underwood‘s Storyteller will be released on October 23rd, and with two weeks until the tracks become public, fans of the spectacular superstar woke up to quite a surprise. Yesterday, iTunes delivered a new song, “Heartbeat“, to fans who pre-ordered the anticipated album (which also houses “Smoke Break“), making the next thirteen days even more torturous for those awaiting the full record.
“Heartbeat” is a slow-tempo, romantic tune that proves the hit singer-songwriter still flutters at the sight of her husband of five years, Mike Fisher. Penned by Carrie, Zach Crowell, and Ashley Gorley, the track that is a distinct departure from its released predecessor, “Smoke Break”, will make your heart beat a little faster, as you hear about the love Carrie has for her husband.
What might especially be of interest to Sam Hunt fans is that Sam provides background vocals on the track which was co-written by Montevallo co-producer, Zach Crowell. Sam’s voice perfectly complements Carrie on “Heartbeat”, providing a soft undertone and obvious presence without distracting from the leading powerhouse.

I absolutely love this song and Carrie’s vocals and delivery. It is a beautiful love song that anyone can relate to and picture yourself in the song and actually living it. I am really looking forward to the rest of the album and think it will be very good. Carrie is one artist that I admire, not only for her amazing vocals, but for the way she lives her life and the class and dignity she exudes in everything she does. She has such good personal and work ethics that you can not help but admire her. You can take your family to her concerts and don’t have to worry about foul language, bragging about drinking, being a bada$$ or putting up with the drunk fans. I have had to leave a couple of concerts because of such behavior and did not want my 9 and 12 year old subjected to it. They hear and see enough of that on TV and at school.
I recently bought Sam Hunt’s cd. He can sing to me anytime..He’s good!!!
