Shane McAnally is one of the most talented artists in country music. In fact, he is the mastermind behind so many hit songs, it actually may blow your mind if you took time to evaluate his catalog. The 49th Annual Country Music Association Awards recognized the importance of Shane’s contributions to the genre, naming him as a nominee four times this year.
This morning, Steven Tyler and Kelsea Ballerini announced the CMA Awards nominees, sharing that Shane had received multiple nods. He is nominated twice for Song of the Year (Kenny Chesney’s “American Kids” and Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time”); Single of the Year (“Take Your Time”); and Album of the Year (Kacey Musgraves’ Pageant Material). That’s right; that means Shane will be battling himself for the coveted Song of the Year award — for the second time. In 2013, Shane was likewise nominated twice (Kacey Musgraves’ “Merry Go Round” and Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart”) and won the 2014 award for “Follow Your Arrow.”
On being recognized several times by CMA, Shane stated:
Considering the amount of amazing music that was made this past year, I am so honored that we are getting this sort of love from the CMA this morning. I am so excited for these artists and their teams and still can’t believe this is my life.
