Lauren Alaina has been promoting her new single Next Boyfriend” across the country by visiting radio stations, now putting a release date on the tune — Friday, September 18th. Fans have been awaiting new music from the Universal Music Group artist for quite some time, eager to get their hands on the digital download at the end of this week.

What Lauren’s fans, and the industry as a whole, can expect from the now twenty-year-old who has been hard at work behind-the-scenes for the last few years is a mature sound from the girl who won our hearts many years ago. Though Lauren was always musically wiser than her years, “Next Boyfriend” is a drastic change from songs of the past, especially made evident by the deeper, richer voice displayed by the singer on the track.

The song can aptly be described as flirtatiously sexy, while still remaining age appropriate and youth friendly for Lauren’s wide array of fans. With a comparatively explosive chorus that demonstrates Lauren’s broad vocal range, the quick-witted girl with adorable stage presence and endless humorous quips explains to the man who has caught her attention why he should head her way.

You look a lot like my next boyfriend. I can’t believe how much you act like him. You and me we’d be unbelievable and I’m available. No, I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I put it all together, it makes sense. Boy, you ain’t no fling or a coulda been, ’cause you look a lot like my next boyfriend.

Lauren’s single, “Next Boyfriend,” will be available this Friday on iTunes. Follow Lauren on Instagram for puzzle piece sneak peeks at the gorgeous cover art until the release of the song.
