American Idol is coming to an end after this season. Or is it?
I’m sure everyone’s aware by now that American Idol’s 15th season is supposed to be its last, but now judge Keith Urban says that the long-running singing competition may not actually be over.
Keith broke the surprising news to Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton over the weekend:
“I’ve been hearing more and more that there’s so much love out there for Idol that it may continue on in some form somewhere else. I don’t know. I just know there’s so much talk about it maybe being the final season where it is. And at some point coming back to life again, so who knows.”
Well with Netflix and Hulu and other television channels routinely taking over cancelled shows, I guess the news shouldn’t actually be surprising.
So would Keith take part in a second rising of the show? He says sure.
“I’d be open to it because it’s a fun part of my year. My primary love professionally is writing songs, making records, and touring. That’s what I love more than anything. But Idol fits in beautifully to that, so I certainly enjoy doing it.”
So what do you think? Should American Idol die an honorable death or be resurrected somewhere else?
