When you have a new song called Top of the World, what better way to promote it than by sending it out to some people who really ARE on top of the world?
That was probably Tim McGraw’s thinking when he sent out a tweet to NASA and the astronauts currently circling the Earth in the International Space Station.
Hey @NASA, astronauts on @Space_Station might enjoy my new song. Check it out https://t.co/326YY3RPsB

What he may not have expected, however, was to get a response back.
Thanks, @TheTimMcgraw! You’re on #TopOfTheWorld…we orbit around it. Look up & #SpotTheStation: http://t.co/oSsWTXxc2M pic.twitter.com/msr8u78VQ2 — Intl. Space Station (@Space_Station) August 3, 2015
So what’s a country star to do when he gets a response from the International Space Station?
Invite them to a concert, of course.
.@Space_Station Maybe you’ll fly over my next concert. We love what you’re doing up there, pushing humanity forward. Keep up the great work!

That’s when astronaut Scott Kelly, who is currently up in space, promised to give it the good ol’ college try.
.@TheTimMcGraw Maybe! Let me know where. Appreciate your support from #TopOfTheWorld on @Space_Station! #YearInSpace pic.twitter.com/b1GTnfxKiA

Tim didn’t miss a beat and tweeted back that his next show was in Indy but that he’d love to see them all in Nashville. Then he thanked them for the support.
Just another day in the life of Tim McGraw.
Amazingly, this isn’t the first time a country star has received a tweet from space. Back in 2014, Blake Shelton randomly sent out a tweet to astronaut Mike Hopkins who then tweeted Blake back. Blake had one word to say about the tweet exchange: “Crazy!!!!”
Crazy indeed!
