Jordyn Stoddard has been riding the southern tide like a true professional for years, but it has been in 2015 that she caught the biggest wave of her young career. Jordyn released her debut full-length album, Southern Tide, earlier this year, cutting songs written by the likes of Dallas Davidson, Hillary Lindsey, and Eric Paslay. This week she has been making her way around Nashville, playing in songwriters rounds and writing with several other artists in the community in hopes of broadening her spectrum before she returns to her home state of Florida to begin her senior year of high school.
One of Jordyn’s stops while she has been traveling around Music City and cementing her names in the minds of those along Music Row and in audiences around town was to CDX Nashville’s office to play an acoustic set for radio programmers. While she was there, I requested that she perform the eight-song cross genre mashup that her mind — one of a prodigy — recently created. Incorporating the genre in which she is classified with the genres which also inspire and entertain her, Jordyn laced together eight separate songs that listeners may be surprised to hear fit together seamlessly.
Watch Jordyn Stoddard perform her mashup below and check out her current single, penned by Eric Paslay, “Like Me ‘Til You Love Me.”
