Taylor Swift‘s friend Jaime King dug deep when she was thinking about who she would want to take care of her precious children in the unthinkable event that something happened to her and her husband, Kyle Newman. Two names came to the minds of the parents-to-be: Jessica Alba and Taylor Swift.

Jessica Alba was granted godmother duties for the couple’s first bundle of joy, twenty-one month old James Knight Newman, and, now, another gracious godmother has joined the family. Staying true to her gut instincts, Jaime asked Taylor to undertake responsibilities of motherhood, if necessary, for the second Newman child. Of course, Taylor leapt at the idea of having such an integral role on behalf of her close friend.

Just yesterday, Taylor met her godson, Leo Thames Newman, for the first time (born July 16th), and the pictures are precious beyond words.
