Stoney LaRue is sorry. Very, very sorry for allegedly pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs.
The singer, who is popular in the Oklahoma/Texas part of the country, was arrested for domestic violence on Monday in Oklahoma City after his girlfriend said he came home from a late night of drinking and after an argument ended up pushing her down some stairs. He was later released on bond.
Now LaRue has taken to Facebook to apologize to the people in his life for his actions.
I want to apologize to my family, my friends and my fans for the recent circumstances that have come to light. I am going to take some time to work on myself. I will be entering an intensive and extensive program, and I appreciate your thoughts and good wishes for me during this trying time. Please check my website and Facebook page for updates on my upcoming tour dates, but most importantly, I appreciate your support during this time.
While I applaud LaRue for standing up and taking responsibility for his actions, and he is innocent until proven guilty, so there’s that, it hits me as, I don’t know, insensitive or something that right smack dab in the middle of a heartfelt apology he reminds those reading to check his website for upcoming tour dates. But I guess a guy’s still gotta pay the bills, eh?
Let’s at least hope he’s learned his lesson from the whole ordeal.
