Luke Bryan is now caring for all three of his sister’s children

Most of you probably remember earlier this year when Luke Bryan took in his teen nephew after the sudden death of his sister’s husband. Luke’s sister had passed away several years earlier, so the death of her husband left their children essentially orphaned. At the time that Luke took in his nephew, there were actually three children in the family, two girls and a boy. It was a happy ending for the nephew, but what about the nieces? Well it turns out that Luke and his wife have bigger hearts than was first reported.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Luke revealed that he and wife Caroline not only took in his 13-year-old nephew, Til, but they also opened their home to his nieces, Jordan and Kris, as well.

You wouldn’t know it from his songs, but Bryan has experienced more than his share of loss. When he was 19, his brother died in a car accident. In 2007, he lost his older sister to undetermined causes and, in 2014, her husband to a possible heart attack. He and his wife are raising his nephew and two nieces with their two sons. “You don’t want to sound like you love having them so much that you’re glad it’s the situation,” says Bryan. “But we’re honored to be doing what we feel was the right thing.”

That means Luke and his wife went from a family of four (they have two sons of their own) to a family of seven (yay for math!) pretty much overnight. Can you imagine? That had to have been quite the adjustment. Kudos to Luke and Caroline, my new heroes.
