Warner Music Nashville recording artist Ashley Monroe has been working toward a career in country music since her mother moved her from her native Knoxville, Tennessee to Nashville when Ashley was thirteen. It comes as no surprise, with talent like Ashley’s, that the life change was well worth the family’s sacrifices.

Ashley was signed to Columbia Records before making the transition to Sony and, eventually, Warner, releasing two singles under her original label. Ashley’s first album, Satisfied, was released in 2009 via digital distributors. After the release of Satisfied, Ashley recorded and released a self-titled EP, later signing with Warner Music Nashville to drop her full-length project, Like a Rose.

Aside from recording music, Ashley became an active songwriter, receiving credits for Carrie Underwood‘s “Flat on the Floor,” Jason Aldean‘s “The Truth,” and Miranda Lambert‘s “Heart Like Mine” (amongst others). She also joined friends Miranda Lambert and Angaleena Presley in a trio, Pistol Annies, releasing two albums as a group. The talented singer-songwriter with vocal range for days has additionally collaborated with Train, Jack White, The Raconteurs, Ricky Skaggs, Will Hoge, Andrea Glass, Wade Bowen, Miranda Lambert, Mat Kearney, Hunter Hayes, Sheryl Crow, and Blake Shelton on their respective albums.

Today, Ashley’s newest offering, The Blade, became available and critical reception has already begun for the long overdue member of Team Women In Country. With a title track that includes harmonies by Miranda Lambert, the hot single “On to Something Good,” and the sound of a classic country throwback collection, Ashley is poised to make herself a contender as a bonafide female country music frontrunner moving forward.
