On Thursday night, Eric Church headlined the grand opening of the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville and played a new song that was inspired by his son Boone’s 3-year-old antics.

“I am 38 years old and I did not know a fishing pole would sink faster than a tackle box,” Church joked about a particularly fun fishing trip he had with his son. “I also learned a garbage can is a good place to hide truck keys.”

Eric will return to the Ascend Amphitheater for another show tonight.
