Just when you thought Taylor Swift had performed every good deed possible, the multi-genre superstar strikes again.
According to Billboard, a Texas volunteer firefighter’s world was turned upside down last Saturday when he responded to a 9-1-1 call. When Aaron Van Riper arrived on the scene of a car accident, he realized the victims were his wife, Amber Van Riper, and his son.
Though the child has been released from the doctor’s care, Amber remains hospitalized. The accident has resulted in large medical bills for the family, which led their friends to start a GoFundMe webpage to assist with the growing debt. Last night, a $15,000 donation was made through the page with the signature reading “Taylor Swift”. It has been confirmed by Billboard that the always incredibly generous Taylor did, indeed, provide the family with the sizable monetary gift — a donation that is now one of more than 2,000 acts of kindness.
Say what you will, but whether she is singing country music or not, Taylor Swift is a darn great human being, and isn’t that what truly matters most? Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the Van Riper family and we wish Amber and the couple’s son speedy recoveries.
