Kelsea Ballerini Makes History!

We aren’t the only ones who love Kelsea Ballerini like we mean it, and while we have known that for quite some time, it has never been more evident than it is today.

Today, Sunday, June 21st, as the Mediabase Country chart updated, people watched in anticipation to see if Kelsea’s debut single “Love Me Like You Mean It” (Black River Entertainment) could rise to a place where no woman has gone since 2006 . . . the Number 1 spot on the charts. The last female country artist to experience this type of success was Carrie Underwood with her first single, “Jesus Take the Wheel.”

As hoped and expected, country music fans awoke this morning to find Kelsea had, indeed, climbed to Number 1, dethroning Kenny Chesney’s “Wild Child” and further solidifying her place on the country music map.

Congratulations, Kelsea! It couldn’t have happened to a more talented artist and special person. Here’s to many more chart-toppers!

Country Fans young and old are thrilled for Kelsea. I’ve noticed her name is coming up to be our next female country star in every article out there. Just read one last evening. I do know she has that voice many are noticing. Best of luck to Kelsea for many more #1’s. My guess she has good management around to give her that great advice a new young singer needs when becoming successful….I hear its something such as winning the lottery, you all at once have those So Called Friends! Congratulations to Kelsea!

Can you clarify something for me–Taylor Swift never had a #1 on Country Radio?
