American Idol’s Emily Brooke Covers Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It”

It’s been a bit since Emily Brooke has provided fans with a new cover video, but the time is now, and the choice of covers — well, it couldn’t have been better.

Sixteen-year-old South Florida singer-songwriter Emily Brooke achieved national attention when she was deemed one of the contestants with the most potential on Season XIV of American Idol. An artist her community has known about for many years had to watch its angel clip her wings and fly, but everybody knew it was just a matter of time before that inevitability was upon them.

Appropriately, the budding teenage star decided to cover the Top 5 hit of an artist who was in her position only a few years ago, bursting from the seams with dreams and the talents to make those visions into realities. Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It” is a confident tune that teaches girls to take a stand and never settle for less than they deserve. With a wide array of key variations, impressive notes, and short moments of sassy speaking, Kelsea won the world over, and Emily is only a few steps behind.

Employing her unique vocals, familiar vibrato, and adorable personality, Emily sat in her bedroom, strummed her guitar, rambled as only she does, and showed fans that she is worth loving like they mean it. Watch Emily Brooke perform Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It” below.
