In case you hadn’t noticed, there’s been something of a push to promote more women in this format as the bros continue to dominate. CMT launched their Next Women of Country tour headlined by Kelsea Ballerini and Jana Kramer, and now Miranda Lambert is resurrecting her old ‘Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars’ tour with an entirely female line-up. The original tour ran in 2010, and Miranda was joined by the likes of Chris Young, Randy Houser, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, James Otto, David Nail, Wade Bowen, Jake Owen and Cross Canadian Ragweed… phew! However, as you can probably tell, with the exception of Miranda it was a testosterone-heavy tour, kinda strange really considering the pink guitars reference.
Still, obviously Ran decided it was time to shake things up a bit, and the Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars tour 2015 was born! This time it will feature RaeLynn, Ashley Monroe (select dates), Clare Dunn, and Courtney Cole. RaeLynn is currently at radio with ‘For A Boy’, Ashley is on there with ‘On To Something Good’, Clare Dunn just came off a killer set at Stagecoach festival and Courtney Cole is promoting her debut single ‘Drunk’. Would have been pretty cool to add someone like Lindsay Ell to proceedings, seeing as she plays the hell out of the guitar (okay, hers is purple, but still), but this is still a strong line-up that will hopefully turn audiences onto more women in the format.
Cities guaranteed to be on the tour include:
Missoula, MT – Billings, MT – Rapid City, SD- Mankato, MN – Augusta, GA – Fayetteville, NC – Roanoke, VA – Huntsville, AL – Tupelo, MS – Jonesboro, AR – Lacrosse, WI – Ft. Wayne, IN and Moline, IL. Check MirandaLambert.com for more details!
