Leave it to Kacey Musgraves to have this reason to picking Biscuits as a single…

tumblr_ne3b63hHAq1txmizuo1_500Kacey Musgraves is no fool. When you had as successful of a debut of an album as she did, you have to be careful about the stuff that follows. For example,  “Keep It To Yourself”  was Kacey’s last single released to country radio back in 2014.  Can you believe 2014 (Thanks Vickye!)? So when considering your next single wasn’t going to be gravy. Yes, I did just say that.

Ms. Musgraves said, “I feel like it’d been a while since I’d said anything and I’ve been one to put out weighty messages or whatever; every song has a message. So, I was like, ‘What am I gonna say next?’”

While  Pageant Material is jam packed with potential singles, Kacey narrowed it down to “Biscuits” to introduce fans to the album.

Why you ask?

I just felt like ‘Biscuits’ was really right,” Kacey says of the single choice. “Mostly, it was upbeat. It was fun and just plain country, and it just made no excuses for itself in that way. And I just thought it would be a fun way to start off the record.”

Kacey’s new album, Pageant Material, is due out June 23. And between ‘Biscuits’ and Tay’s ‘Shake It Off’ the haters and jealous bitches don’t stand a chance!
