As a new “face” here at Nashville Gab, I want to come clean about something to readers with whom I have not yet been acquainted. I, being of sound mind and body, hereby profess that I am a Laura Bell Bundy fan.
Laura captured my heart when she reprised the role of Elle Woods in Broadway‘s Legally Blonde: The Musical, and I was later blessed to work directly with her in support of her organization Kreative Kids Foundation. Needless to say, Laura has won me over professionally and personally, so it brings me an enormous amount of joy to share that a new album is on the horizon.
Laura signed to Big Machine Label Group following the release of her debut country album Achin’ and Shakin’, a unique collection of emotional and excitable songs separated into two “sides” of one disc. Since the 2010 record, Laura has spent time in front of television cameras, with recurring roles on CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, The CW’s Hart of Dixie and FX’s Anger Management, always keeping her foot in the country music door. Laura released two singles, “Kentucky Dirty” and “Two Step (featuring Colt Ford)”, all the while preparing to launch a full-length album.
It seems the preparations have come to an end, as Laura Bell Bundy recently announced her sophomore country album, Another Piece of Me, will be available for public consumption on June 9th. The title of the record foreshadows what fans can expect on the fifteen-track offering, as Laura explained to Rolling Stone:
I hope everyone truly feels like they know another piece of me after listening. Much of my career has involved playing characters that have been created for me, but this album is something completely different and the most personal body of work I’ve ever done. . . it is the real me.
The album can be pre-ordered beginning Tuesday, May 26th, with fans receiving two tracks immediately upon order, as well as a video for “I Am What I Am.”
