So, it appears Kip Moore has spoke out against bro country which has left some people scratching their heads because Kip is the man responsible for bringing us a bro country hit with his song, ‘Somethin’ Bout A Truck’. Of course, in the scheme of things that song really isn’t as bro as it actually got. I am using past tense in a moment of hope those days may be behind us. Or that I just get used to the fact that it’s here to stay.
Kip Moore told Billboard that his ties to the so-called “bro-country” movement, which highlight songs about girls, partying and trucks, are now done.
“I want to be authentic with what I’m doing and not chasing things,” he says of following the “bro-country” trend. “If you’re chasing something, you’re already f—in’ behind it.”
And if his new single ‘I’m To Blame” isn’t a clue, Kip is focusing hardcore on being honest with his music.
“I told myself a long time ago: There’s a lot of people trying to pose to be a certain kind of thing,” he says. “But me—100 percent as a person in my writing—I don’t ever want to portray myself as something I’m not.”
Hey, I applaud this!
