While Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert are both up for awards on Sunday at the 50th Annual ACM Awards, they are already walking away with a pretty big accomplishment….
Guinness World Records gave Brad an award for most consecutive wins in the Academy of Country Music’s male vocalist of the year category. And Miranda walked away with one for the most consecutive wins in the ACM’s female vocalist of the year category.
Miranda shared her excitement over the award:
“Oh my God,I thought you just had a cool jacket,” she told the Guinness World Records representative, who was wearing a blazer with a patch on it. “I’m in now, I’m in!”
And Brad went typical Brad:
“When you think back, it’s a blur. The memory that stands out is the year where I jumped in the water after my performance, and I was still soaking wet. They presented the award 30 seconds after I jumped in the pool, and then they said I couldn’t dry off. Then there’s the first time. It’s a blur, though, and something I’m really proud to have done.”
