Taylor Swift is a woman of her word-Donates $50,000 to NYC schools

It’s one thing to say you’re going to do something, and it’s another to actually do it. And Taylor Swift, my friends…well…she’s a doer.

Officials announced that Taylor Swift kept her word when she said all the proceeds of her song ‘Welcome To New York’ off her smash hit pop album, 1989, would be donated to NYC public schools. Ms. Swift cut a check in the amount of $50,000 for the schools already.

Not too shabby! The official New York City ambassador and pop superstar has truly embraced this title by giving back to the city in a big way and officials are expressing how grateful they are!

“We’re deeply appreciative of this kind gesture to donate her proceeds of the single ‘Welcome to New York’ to benefit New York City public schools,” Department of Education spokeswoman Devora Kaye said Tuesday.

Just goes to show you…being generous never goes out of Style!
