Two of country music’s hottest stars Brantley Gilbert and Jason Aldean took home some iHeart Awards last night. (March 29th). But fans weren’t exactly thrilled with Adean’s win…
Alden won song of the year with ‘Burning It Down’ and while he and Florida Georgia Line‘s Tyler Hubbard were celebrating fools(Tyler co-wrote the jam) fans were a little less excited:
I like most of Jason Aldean's songs but how 'burnin it down' won song of the year on @iHeartRadio awards is a mystery I'll never solve

I'm watching Jason Aldean on the iHeart awards. He's supposed to be a country artist. I haven't heard one bit of country yet!@hamertime_g

“Burnin’ It Down” did beat out some serious competition with Lady A’s “Bartender,” FGL’s “Dirt,” Eric Church’s “Give Me Back My Hometown” and “Play It Again” by Luke Bryan for the trophy. But I think that must make the victory even sweeter! Plus, I am a huge fan of the song.
Jason thanked his new wife Brittany Kerr, his two daughters, the song’s writers and his fans during his acceptance speech, and as if the Aldean Army wasn’t high enough, he performed a scorching hot performance of how iHeart Award Winning song.
One of the coolest moments of the show? When Brantley was honestly surprised when he was called as the winner of the all-genre Renegade award.
“I wasn’t expecting that one,” he said. “It was an honor to be in this category.”
Considering homeboy was up against all genres, this was a HUGE accomplishment.
Honorable mention for the other country stars nominated at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards: Cole Swindell was up for Best New Artist, while Church’s fans, the Church Choir, were nominated for Best Fan Army, and Bryan had a nod in the evening’s biggest category, Artist of the Year.

No way Aldean’s song should have won! But I think this is fan voted? so appears fans have no taste. As much as I do not like FGL, Dirt was a better song.
