Carrie Underwood will kick off the Super Bowl but won’t actually be there

Carrie Underwood Super Bowl

Carrie Underwood is big and pregnant right now, which means that her Super Bowl Sunday will be spent at home and not at the big game, despite recording a special opening song for America's biggest commercial viewing night.

Carrie has recorded a special version of the Sunday Night Football them song Waitin' All Day for Sunday Night that will play before the Super Bowl this Sunday night, but she tells Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that she won’t actually be attending the game in Phoenix because she's "insanely pregnant."

“I’ll be watching for sure," she says. "I don’t know if I’ve ever not watched a Super Bowl, so it’s going to be cool. And I do kind of get to kick off the Super Bowl, because obviously NBC has it, and we did our ‘Waitin’ All Day for the Super Bowl.’"

Fans will be able to catch Carrie's voice opening the big game when the New England Patriots take on the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday night on NBC-TV.
