My top 5 songs of 2014

Forget about billboard ratings, ticket sales and radio airplay. As a person who is constantly going against what's "normal" or "common" I  am here to tell you that some of the best songs will never make it to the radio. They are like hidden treasures and sometimes you just want to keep these treasures for yourself, right? Well, I've never been greedy so you're in luck. Here are my top five country songs that made my 2014 extra special. These are five of the best songs I've heard this year and hopefully you'll love them too.

1. Kelsea Ballerini – The First Time

This song was written by Kelsea and can be heard on her self titled EP which was released November 24, 2014 via Black River Entertainment. This song is something every girl has gone through and it's written perfectly. I'm a huge fan of this girl, she's brilliant.

2. Lee Brice – That Don't Sound Like You

Lee Brice, Rhett Akins and Ashley Gorley wrote this song. It can be heard on Lee's newest album titled I Don't Dance which was released on September 9th, 2014. It's one of my favorite songs to ever exist. It's powerful, meaningful and impactful. I love a good ballad.

3. Sam Hunt – Raised On It

Sam Hunt has brought a entirely new sound to the country music world in 2014 and I am digging it. This song was written by Hunt, Zach Crowell and Jerry Flowers. You can find this track on Sam's debut album 'Montevallo' that was released October 27, 2014.

4. The Swon Brothers – This Side Of Heaven

This song was written by Blake Bollinger, Ryan Lafferty and Ben Stennis. It's featured on The Swon Brother's self titled album which was released on October 14, 2014. This song has a real meaning to it and tugs at your emotional side.  It's a keeper.

5. Kelleigh Bannen – Famous

Kelleigh released this song in January, 2014. Who don't love a "getting even" song? I'm sure I've made a few guys famous in my day. Just saying.
