Well wishes and good vibes going out to Troy Gentry and his wife Angie. The Montgomery Gentry singer took to Facebook on Wednesday evening to reveal that his wife was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Hey everyone,
Troy here. As you know, we launched this “Check Your Headlights” campaign for breast cancer awareness in early October. What you didn’t know is that right before we launched, my beautiful Angie got a diagnosis from her doctor that has rocked our world a bit over the last few weeks. She has breast cancer – and we wanted you to hear it from us first. She is currently going through chemo treatments and her prognosis is very good. We’d love for you to keep her in your prayers over the next few months.
Many Thanks,
-T
It sounds like the couple are on top of things and staying positive, but still, so scary. I'm sure the country music community will be keeping them in their prayers over the next few months as Angie goes through treatment.
On a side note, as Troy mentioned in his Facebook post, he and Eddie Montgomery recently launched their "Check Your Headlights" campaign. To help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, the duo released a special bundle to Garth Brooks' GhostTunes that includes the band's current hit single, "Headlights," plus a fun "Check Your Headlights" t-shirt for $19.99, including shipping. All profits from the campaign will be donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, an American Cancer Society initiative.
In light of Troy's announcement tonight, maybe the best way fans can show their support is to support the "Check Your Headlights" campaign. That would definitely be a positive thing to come out of a scary situation.
