Well after a few months of country fans being excited about the possibility of Carrie Underwood performing during the next Super Bowl halftime show in February, it looks like she's lost out to pop princess Katy Perry.

On Thursday, Page Six first reported that Katy had landed the coveted gig.

“A deal is being hammered out for Katy to play the Super Bowl,” an insider told the gossip site.

On Sunday, the singer herself seemed to confirm the news (or was having fun with the rumor) with a tweet about her new favorite sport.
