As a person who shares a living space with two cats, I can officially tell you that cats are assholes. Oh sure, cats are sweet and lovable and amazing and all those things. They are also continuously plotting ways to take over the world (or destroy humankind, whichever comes first) and are only sweet and lovable and amazing as long as you're doing what they want and not trying to force them to do something againts their will.
Apparently Taylor Swift, with two cats of her own, has figured out that in a battle of wills the cat always wins – ALWAYS! – which explains why you may have seen pictures of the singer carrying her cat Olivia Benson around in paparazzi pictures.
She explained her fancy accessory to Access Hollywood during this month's iHeartRadio Music Festival (quote via Us Weekly).
"The kitten freaks out about being put in the cat carrier, so I was just like, 'Okay, all right, we're gonna just do this!'"
That's right, the cat always wins.
