Ugh.
For the last year or so I've seen various reporters ask Kenny Rogers why he has never slept with Dolly Parton when there's clearly an attraction between the long-time friends.
Holy hell, why does this question keep getting asked?
Dolly's been married for a gazillion years and Kenny's also been married for a gazillion years, although his gazillion years has been split up between a couple of different wives.
Seriously, though, has it ever occurred to these people who keep asking this odd question that maybe the pair are just loyal married people who have done the right thing all these years because they're actually nice people?
Eesh.
Surprisingly, this time it was respected news man Dan Rather doing the asking. Kenny, as he always does, answered the question (via People).
"We flirted with each other for 30 years, and it was much more electric," the singer explained in the interview that aired yesterday on AXS TV. "I think once you consummate a relationship like that, it loses something. And she and I both believe that theory, so we did some massive flirting in front of the nation, but there was never anything more than that."
Again, ugh! Reporters of the world, please stop asking Kenny why he didn't screw Dolly Parton. It's not any different than asking Brad Paisley if he's ever thought about taking Carrie Underwood behind the stage and shagging her in between CMA Award jokes. It's just an annoying question and should be retired from the acceptable Q&A list.
