SaraBeth previews new music with delightful acoustic set

SaraBeth Showcase

While the mid-day sun was tucked away behind the clouds, singer-songwriter SaraBeth showered the crowd with her sunny disposition during a showcase overlooking the Nashville skyline on Fri. (Sept. 12). With only two guitars (Glen Mitchell and Christen Cole also supplying ample background vocals), the rising star blazed through several cuts from her brand new Obsessive EP, including her current radio single "Nowhere With You." Despite the intimate setting, SaraBeth powered through with poise and unbridled passion, even treating the crowd with two new cuts.

The darkly rock-tinged "I'm Sick Of It," co-written with Mitchell and The Voice's Gwen Sebastian (featured on Blake Shelton's most recent No. 1 single "My Eyes"), proved to be the highlight of the afternoon. Underpinning with a sinister groove, SaraBeth delivered the track with a twisted smirk, a bit self-aware and a bit empowering. She also performed another new song called "You Rock My Rodeo," an uptemp toe-tapper with a flirtatious revelation.

Upon entering the suite's lobby, a poster is emblazoned with "poised for a breakout year" (above) and that couldn't be more true. SaraBeth is charming and possesses the necessary vocals and unique flair that has allowed such females as Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert to breakout. With the right material (which she certainly has with her new EP and fresh cuts), SaraBeth could very well be the artist everyone will be talking about in the next year. Now, it's a matter of the stars (i.e. radio) truly aligning in her favor.
