As the sun began to crest the horizon, Jana Kramer, sporting a slick black outfit with sparking skyscraper heels, brought the "Love" for an intimate patio pickin' showcase on Wed. (Sept. 24). Not only did she perform her Top 5 hit radio single "Why You Wanna" (much to the satisfaction of the gathering crowd), but she also treated with two new songs, expected to be included on her sophomore album. At the moment, she's putting the finishing touches on her 2012 self-titled follow-up and is eyeing an early 2015 release.
Kramer's set also included "I Hope It Rains," "Whiskey" and her new single "Love."
"I Got The Boy" is a sweeping romantic piece, dipped in nostalgia, about her high school sweetheart. "She's got the future, and I've got the past," Kramer pours on thick on the chorus. "I've got the class ring; she got the diamond and wedding band. I got the boy; she got the man."
The highlight of the set came with the rock-tinged, shoot-from-the-hip "Bullet" track. "I'm pretty sure you'll know what it's about," she teased before launching into the explosively honest performance. Reading between the lines (of her romantic life), it would seem the song is about former beau and once-engaged Brantley Gilbert. The hook on the chorus goes, "I dodged a bullet. Thank god, I didn't do it."
Decide for yourself:
Kramer's forthcoming sophomore effort follows her remarkable debut, which has sold a total of more than one million tracks since release. She was also the most-played new female artist of 2012.
