Barbra Streisand finally confirms duets album featuring Blake Shelton

Barbra Streisand Partners album

Back in January, record producer Walter Afanasieff jumped the gun a bit when he announced on his blog that he was working on a duets album with Barbra Streisand. The album would feature Blake Shelton, Lionel Richie, Babyface, Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Lady Gaga, Better Midler, Andrea Bocelli, Beyonce, Billy Joel, and John Mayer. Afanasieff then apologized for making the announcement and deleted the post.

Well now it's finally official. Streisand made the announcement this morning on her freshly-launched Instagram page. The album cover was posted along with the caption:

You heard it here first… my new album PARTNERS is coming September 16th, featuring duets with @andreabocelliofficial, @michaelbuble, @babyface, #JasonGould, @joshgroban, #BillyJoel, @johnlegend, @johnmayer, #ElvisPresley, @lionelrichie, @blakeshelton, and #StevieWonder. What an extraordinary collection of talent! #BarbraPartners

Happy for Blake that he was included, but I am a little surprised that Keith Urban isn't featured on the album considering Barbra once called him one of her dream duet partners. Better luck next time I guess.
