Kenny Chesney's been out of the loop for a while now after taking the last year off from his normally hectic life on the road, but he's back with a new single and promises of more to come.
Kenny has announced his next single is American Kids, a "multi-tempo celebration of the spirit of young America that packs not one, but two hooks and an innovative lyrical scan," whatever all that means. All I know is that the song has a toe-tapping beat that sort of reminds me of Sugarland's Stuck Like Glue at the beginning.
“When I heard it, I knew I was gonna cut it,” Kenny says in a release. “It was unlike anything I’d ever heard – and I listen to a lot of songs. The rhythms, the images, the way the melody moved… It just grabs you and holds on, but even more importantly, it feels really good.”
American Kids ships to radio on June 20 ad will be available for purchase at digital retail on Monday, June 23.

As for more music to come, back in April the singer tweeted a picture of himself sitting in the studio with the caption: back in In studio working on new album. Can't wait for everyone to hear the new music. pic.twitter.com/vSgphWPIpa. Then, about a month later, he tweeted the date 9.30.14, so it's a pretty good bet that's when fans can expect new music.
Not sure if I'm overly excited for new Kenny music, but I know that a lot of fans out there are so yay!
