Blake Shelton seems to confirm the rumor that Miranda Lambert once got in a bar fight with Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger

Nothing like waiting four years to find out a rumor is true or not.

Back in 2010, Us Weekly reported that Nickelback's Chad Kroeger and Miranda Lambert nearly got into a barroom brawl during her 27th birthday party in Nashville after Miranda wouldn't do shots with Kroeger.

A battle broke out at Miranda Lambert’s 27th birthday party at Winners Bar & Grill in Nashville November 10, when the singer refused to do shots with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, 36. “Chad kept persisting, and Miranda said no,” says the witness. “He responded she ‘didn’t have to be a bitch about it.’ Then she grabbed the shot and threw it in his face!” Soon after, Lambert’s fiance, fellow country star Blake Shelton, 34, jumped in to attack Kroeger. “But people kept Blake away,” says the insider.

After the rumored fight, Blake's people released a statement that said:  “No fists were thrown. Blake is a peacekeeper and doesn’t start fights.”

You would think that after four years the rumored fight would be old news, but Blake brought it back up in the issue of Rolling Stone that Miranda recently covered and showed that, at least to Blake, it's still newsworthy.

"People always try to pop off or call her bluff at bars. One of them, I don't want to say the guy's name, but he's the lead singer of a very popular rock band. His initials are C.K." Blake told the magazine.

Many other blogs are speculating and trying to decide if Blake is talking about Chad Kroeger, but all you have to do is look back in 2010 at the original Us Weekly story to know that he is.

So funny that Blake brought that old incident up. Here's to hoping Blake's holding the mother of all grudges and that someday he and Miranda will meet Chad Kroeger and Chad's wife Avril Lavigne in some dark, empty hallway at some awards show where they can finally settle this blood feud the right way … with a riff-off like in Pitch Perfect

Ha! Yes, my mind works in mysteriously bizarre ways sometimes.
