Seems like forever we've been hearing about Britney Spears' little sister's burgeoning country career, but finally we have confirmation that Jamie Lynn Spears is ready to get this dang show on the road with the announcement of her debut EP, The Journey

The Journey? Pfft. More like The Wait, Wait, and Wait a Little Longer. Sheesh.

Rising country star Jamie Lynn Spears announces her debut EP The Journey release date, and calls on fans to unlock the cover art!
 
The Journey boasts five tracks all co-written by Spears, and includes her current single "How Could I Want More”. The EP is set to release May 27th.

The EP, produced by Corey Crowder, features some of country music's best songwriters including Liz Rose (Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Eli Young Band), Chris Tompkins (Florida Georgia Line, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood), Tyler Hayes (Gloriana), Rivers Rutherford (Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Brad Paisley) and Lisa Carver (Reba McEntire, Sugarland). 
 
In addition to the EP announcement, Jamie Lynn calls on her fans to help reveal the cover artwork. Working alongside Twitmusic, fans are encouraged to tweet  #JLSTheJourney  to unlock the cover piece by piece!

Lynn Anderson passes away: A longer bio for those interested

As I mentioned earlier, Lynn Anderson passed away last night at the age of 67. Despite being saddened by her death, I’m really not very good at summing up people’s lives in a tidy little package.
