Rodney Atkins Concert Review

RodneyA

On April 24th, 2014 Toby Keith's Bar & Grill in Woodbridge. VA was expecting a special guest. Rodney Atkins was in town and was ready to perform some real country music.

Opening act Wesley Spangler took the stage first. Wesley is a local musician who prides himself not only on his original songs but on well-known cover songs as well. He performed songs by Blake Shelton, Brett Eldredge and Colt Ford. His stage presence is strong and he knows how to get the crowd going. The band was incredible also. It was the perfect way to start the night.

Rodney took the stage singing "He's Mine" which is one of his single's released in 2012. He also performed the fan favorites such as "Take A Backroad" and " Watching You." My favorite part of his set was when he sang "Friends With Tractors." He had amazing stage presence and exceptional vocals. He is also alot more stylish than I imagined. The black pearl snap and  ball cap suited him just fine. Rodney is one of those artists you can count on to sing real authentic country music. There is nothing mainstream about him. He is the real deal. Fans also got a little surprise during his set when he decided to bring his wife on stage for a acoustic duet. It was a nice touch to the show. His band was amazing and the show was overall a good time.
