Here's the press release:
Time Inc.’s PEOPLE, with an audience of more than 53 million consumers weekly, announced the launch of a new Country channel on PEOPLE.com – www.people.com/country. This new channel features exclusive content, video, first listens and more from Country's biggest names, including video of Miranda Lambert decoding husband Blake Shelton’s tweets and a recipe from Trisha Yearwood.
“For the first time, PEOPLE’s loyal Country audience has a one-stop-shop for new and expanded Country content on PEOPLE.com,” says Janice Morris, editor, PEOPLE Digital. “PEOPLE has always covered the Country scene, being one of the first mass media brands to give Country a mainstream platform. We know how much our readers love PEOPLE’s access to Country stars and their music, and wanted to deliver a dynamic, up-to-the minute digital experience.”
The digital edition of the latest PEOPLE Country issue, featuring an exclusive interview with Miranda Lambert, is now available on tablet.
People is just the latest big name getting into the country news business. Rolling Stone announced last year that they would be opening an office in Nashville and would soon have a website dedicated to country music. It's expected to launch later this year.
