St.Louis native Dakota Bradley is slowly but surely making a name for himself in country music. His voice is nothing short of perfection and his looks? Well, let's just say his concerts aren't lacking the screaming girls for miles. Dakota learned how to play guitar at the age of 12 and decided to form a band. Despite his age, he was able to play in clubs around his town. At just sixteen years old he moved to Nashville to persue his dream and was noticed by Tim Mcgraw's producer Byron Gallimore. Byron was so impressed with this young, raw talent that he signed him to Streamsound Records. Dakota has a timeless voice, but with influences such as Steven Tyler & Guns N Roses I guess I can see why.
1. At what age did you realize you wanted to pursue music?
I've pretty much known since I could talk that I wanted to be on stage performing loud music. When I hit 15 years old, I really started taking it seriously. At 16, I performed "The Girl Is Mine" on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which really helped advance my career.
2. What artists did you listen to growing up?
I listened to all kinds of music. I started out on Stevie Ray Vaughn, Chuck Berry and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I later got into hard rock like Motley Crue and Aerosmith. Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson were the first two country artists I listened to.
3. What artists do you currently listen to?
I currently listen to blues artists like Gary Clark Jr and Chuck Berry. Blues feeds my soul. All the music I write and perform is just an expression of my love for music.
4. Do you have a favorite place to perform?
My favorite place to perform is a stadium. There's nothing like feeling the energy of 40,000 people going nuts over your performance!
5. If you could duet with any female artists, who would you pick?
Taylor Swift.
6. What is your favorite thing about country music?
My favorite thing about country music is the music! I think it's the most honest of all genres. The structure of the songs really let you write a story and let you say everything you need to. Country music is honest.
7. One food you can't live without?
I can't live without sushi!
8. If you could have one super power what would it be?
Definitely the power to fly. I would love to fly around the world like Superman!
9. Any new projects in the works for you?
I just put a new single out called "Wild Child." I'm about to get back on the road promoting it!
