It's no secret that the top of the charts in country music have seen a noticable lack of solo female vocal presence. So, to see The "Voice" season 3 winner break into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Country chart is a pretty remarkable feat. It's got me thinking about how these strong country woman can take over the carts again. I know there's a lot of credit to give as Cassadee is signed with Big Machine Records, who know a thing or two about putting out a top solo female singer cough*TaylorSwift*cough* And then there is the fact she was associated with what seem's to be America's favorite team…"Team Blake."  And perhaps the biggest factor is "Wasting All These Tears", written by Caitlyn Smith and Rollie Gaalswyk, resonates with an ever growing pop/country fanbase. Bottom line I think it's her ability to bring life to lyrics that are relatable to a diverse collection of country music listeners. Cassadee Pope proves there is light at the end of the tunnel and if this is any indication of the things to come for 2014….I can't wait to hear more!
