Carnival Cruise Lines is getting ready to become extra musical this year with the announcement of their Carnival Live Concert Series.
On Wednesday, the company announced that it has lined up an impressive group of stars who will all be performing for passengers on board the cruise ships throughout 2014. Unlike other recent music-based cruises, however, Carnival plans on having the performers do their thing while the ships are in port at various locations rather than while they are at sea.
"Onboard entertainment is an important part of the overall guest experience when cruising," said Mark Tamis, senior vice president of guest operations for Carnival Cruise Lines. "With the Carnival Live Concert Series, our guests will enjoy an exclusive performance with one of their favorite artists for an extraordinary value. Combined with our enhanced house bands fleetwide, this is just another example of the many ways we are constantly looking to create even more fun and memorable moments for our guests."
In total, the cruise line has lined up 15 performers for a total of 49 performances on eight different ships. The most surprising part of the announcement is that one of the performers is Trace Adkins, who didn't exactly have the best experience the last time he was on a cruise ship. I'm sure he signed up with Carnival long before his most recent trouble, but still.
Cruises will begin in April and last through the end of the year. Country stars taking part include Trace, Jewel (occasionally country anyway), Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, and Leann Rimes. Regular tickets will cost $20-$40 while VIP tickets, which includes meet-and-greet, photos, seating in the first three rows, etc. will cost anywhere from $100-$150.
