Taylor Swift helps little girl with her bucket list

One of the best things about being famous has to be having the ability to help people make their dreams come true. On Friday night, Taylor Swift got to do just that with one special little girl.

Delaney Brown is a 7-year-old little girl battling a rare form of leukemia whose parents were recently told she had just days to weeks to live. Thankfully, family and friends have been working hard to mark some items off little Laney's bucket list.

Like many little girls, one of her dreams happened to be meeting Taylor Swift. On Wednesday, the Facebook page created to support Delaney, Team Laney, made a note of this.

Another item on Laney's bucket list is meet Taylor Swift. I don't know how to even go about that but if all 13000 of you FB, tweet, or email her maybe she would get the message. Thanks

That's when Facebook went to work and the Make-A-Wish Foundation made a call.

A little over 48 hours later and Delaney got her wish and had the opportunity to chat with Taylor. Unfortunately, Taylor couldn't meet Laney in person, but the pair did get to Skype.

“Laney got to fulfill another one of bucket list items….. to talk to Taylor Swift!!!”, the Team Laney page joyfully let supporters know.

A little extra special news about this meeting was that Friday also happened to be the little girl's birthday.

“Taylor was fabulous!! She really engaged Laney in conversation. Laney lit up and had a huge smile on her face,” a Facebook status said.

On the Team Laney page, the family thanked Swift “for taking time out from her family to make Laney's birthday very memorable. We will hold that memory in our hearts forever.”

So happy that Taylor could take a little time out to make this sweet girl's dream a reality.

[Thank you to Ashley for the heads up on this story]

Update: Here's a great story about people singing Christmas carols outside of Delaney's West Reading, Pennsylvania home.
