Taylor Swift earns a Golden Globe nod, cuts her hair to celebrate

Okay, so Taylor Swift's new shorter 'do has nothing to do with the Golden Globe nomination she received this morning, but I didn't want to do two different posts so bam … tie in.

Anyway, the Golden Globe noms were announced this morning and Swift received a nomination for Best Original Song for her tune Sweeter Than Fiction from the movie "One Chance." She's up against songs from the new Hunger Games movie, Disney's Frozen, the new Mandela movie, and a movie I've never heard of, "Inside Llewyn Davis."

The 71st Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, are set to air Sunday, January 12

You can find the full list of nominations at GoldenGlobes.com

Now for the hair … Taylor turns 24 tomorrow and I guess the girl needed some change because she went and cut a few inches off her hair.

How long until she goes full pixie cut do you think?

Back a couple of weeks ago, Taylor had mentioned on Instagram that she was thinking of doing a little whittling on her hair.

While in the studio I came to the realization that my bangs are long enough to use as a sleep mask on long flights. Then I remembered I don't ever use sleep masks on flights. So really, I just need a haircut.

Taylor currently has one more show left in Australia before getting some time off for Christmas.
