Well, not exactly, but it sounds like that was the original plan.

Re-recording a song that another artist has made famous is a pretty common occurrence. Luckily, though, it doesn't happen too often that two artists release the same song at the same time, but occasionally even that happens. 

Think Trisha Yearwood and LeAnn Rimes recording and releasing How Do I Live

Awkward. Yes, I realize there's a whole story as to why both ladies released the song, but still …  

Unfortunately, newcomer David Fanning has come under-fire recently for 'ripping off' Justin Timberlake's Drink You Away. It turns out, though, that the internet is like one big game of "telephone" and the accusations of stealing the song are actually kind of laughable.
