Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley is now a married man

Florida Georgia Line

Well, well, well, look who went and turned a boring ol' Monday into a day of celebration.

While the rest of us were just trying to slog through our mundane Monday, Florida Georgia Line's Brian Kelley went and got married to his secret (not so secret) girlfriend, Brittney Marie Cole, a 23-year-old college student.

The happy couple said their I do's in front of 40 of their closest family and friends at Kelley's newly acquired 32-acre Nashville property. And they did it outdoors, which in December is kind of crazy, but when you're in love you do things like that. Beautiful, untraditional, romantic wedding first, worry about frostbite second.

Okay, okay, okay – I just checked the forecast and it's like in the 50s in Nashville right now so I guess they're not suffering the same freezing fate as the rest of the country, meaning an wedding outdoors in December is actually not as crazy there as it would be, say, in Alaska or something.

Anyhoo, the happy couple met a few years ago, but only started dating about seven months ago. As for how the groom popped the question … he didn't.

"The whole process has been non-traditional," Kelley tells PEOPLE of the surprise nuptials. "There was no official proposal or exchanging of rings. We had just fallen in love, and I knew I couldn't live without her. It sounds like a terrible cheesy movie, but when you know, you know!"

I'd make fun of that, but my husband and I got married the day before I left for boot camp and we've been married for 20 years. Sometimes crazy things work out so congrats to them.

Oh, and before you start asking about babies, they say they're planning on waiting a while.

Good for them. You can read the whole nuptial story over on People.com.
