New Garth Brooks music to hit stores November 19

Updated info available here.

How exciting! Garth Brooks is officially releasing new music just in time for Christmas.

Well new old music anyway.

During the Garth Brooks special that aired on GAC Saturday night, it was revealed that Garth will be releasing a limited-edition set of cover songs exclusively through Walmart. The special boxed set of four CDs will feature Garth singing 40 songs from the artists who have influenced him over the years including James Taylor, Gladys Knight, Jerry Lee Lewis, Otis Redding, and more.

In addition, Trisha Yearwood will join him not only has his backup vocalist on many of the songs, but also as his duet partner on the classic Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn song After The Fire Is Gone.

From The Music Universe:

Each disc is set to contain 10 tracks from a certain period of music called Country Classics, Classic Rock, Blue-Eyed Soul covering R&B material and Melting Pot which is described as songs that don’t fit the other categories, such as Cat Stevens’ “Wild World” and Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson.”

Brooks has spent much of 2013 in the recording studio working on this project.

Blame It All On My Roots: Five Decades Of Influences will be released exclusively through Walmart on November 19th. If you missed the GAC special on Saturday, you will have chances all week to catch it again. You can find out the schedule on GAC.

Garth's final show from the Encore Theatre in Vegas is scheduled to air on CBS November 29th.
